Whitlingham Adventure
A summary
This combined course starts your journey through the first two British Canoeing Paddle Awards and finishes with you having the skills allowing you to choose where you move next in the world of paddlesport. This award recognises your ability to independently paddle your chosen craft in a sheltered water environment. Working towards BC Discover or Explore Award.
Different paddle craft will be used during course and will include canoe, single/double sit on top kayak, stand-up paddleboard.

Participants will need to bring
• For water activities – closed toe footwear with laces/zip/Velcro fastening. Light comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting wet, suitable for the weather conditions on the day.
• For land activities – closed toe footwear with laces/zip/velcro fastening and warm clothing layers (long armed tops for Climbing)
• At least two changes of clothes
• Plastic bags for wet and dirty things
• A towel
• Sunscreen & sun hat when warm
• Hat and gloves when cold
• Change of footwear
• Any personal medication relevant to the needs e.g. inhaler
• We would advise all jewellery is removed prior to the activity session
• Long hair should be tied back
• Any cuts of grazes should be covered with waterproof dressings
Should you require your children to be dropped off early or picked up late, you may do this by booking onto our wildlings club. Wildlings club runs from 08:30 until course start and then from course end until 17:30.

How to find us.
There is no direct road access to the centre except for disabled access. Lime Avenue car park is the nearest car park to us and there is a short walk to the centre. The centre is located on the eastern end of Whitlingham Great Broad.
Car parking charges apply to all users, but Whitlingham Country Park operates a 25-minute grace period for customers of Whitlingham Adventure.
