Paddle to the Pub and Home by Moonlight.

We will paddle from the Rivershack in Stoke Gabriel to the Ferry Boat Inn, Dittisham, or The Maltsters Arms, Tuckenhay. On the way back from the pub, we stop on the shore, build a fire and have a brew as the sun goes down. Then we paddle home under the stars. Magical.

The Ferry Boat Inn, known as the FBI, is a cracking little pub which rightly claims to have the best pub view in Britain. Pint and pizza from the door to eat on the shore (no booking required), or dine inside for fuller menu. Neap tide and best for star spotting.

The magnificent Maltsters Arms, Tuckenhay, is a famous riverside pub in an amazing location with food to match. There is a less pricey option a few minutes walk up the road at the Watermans Arms. This route is done over a spring high tide, often under a full moon.

You’ll find some of Devon’s finest pubs on the shores of the River Dart estuary. What better way to visit them than in a giant canoe, taking in all the amazing scenery along the way?

We suggest 12 as youngest age but we are not strict about that, everyone is welcome, so long as everyone can respect the experience for others on the trip.
Please note the late return on some of our evening trips, especially in mid-summer. Child tickets not available on this trip.
If you are 6 or more paddlers, you can book a private trip. And we do loads of really great kids and family trips which may be more suitable for your younger and more excitable crew!
