Paddle to the Pub, Home by Moonlight
What we doYou’ll find some of Devon’s finest pubs on the shores of the River Dart estuary. What better way to visit them than in a giant canoe, taking in all the amazing scenery along the way? We normally set out in the early evening/late afternoon, paddling to the pub for dinner. On the way back from the pub, we stop on the shore, build a fire and have a brew as the sun goes down. Then we paddle home under the stars. Magical. You have three route options to choose from. So check your departure point carefully. Our trips are planned around the tide so check your timings as well! Rivershack Stoke Gabriel to the Ferry Boat Inn, Dittisham. Neap tide and best for star spotting. Rivershack Stoke Gabriel to the magnificent Maltsters Arms, Tuckenhay. Easiest route usually over a spring high tide, often under a full moon. Maltsters Arms, Tuckenhay, to Ferry Boat Inn, Dittisham. A longer route and bigger paddle. All work over the day time too; ask about dates for a private trip.
