What we'll do
Ready to have the best holiday fun ever? ? Come jump, flip, and play at Barnsley Community Gymnastics Academy! Make new friends, learn cool skills, and feel like a superstar in our high-energy HAF sessions. It’s all about big moves and even bigger fun! ?‍✨ Each day runs 9.30 am – 1.30 pm and includes a hot, school approved meal, plus fresh fruit, vegetable snacks, sandwiches and crisps. Across the sessions, children will enjoy: ⭐ Fun Games & Team Challenges Warm up games, relay races, parachute fun and team building activities that get everyone laughing and moving. ⭐ Obstacle Courses & Movement Adventures Children can climb, balance, jump and explore our safe, purpose built gymnastics environment. Courses are adapted for all abilities so every child can succeed. ⭐ Introduction to Gymnastics Led by qualified, experienced coaches, children will learn basic skills such as rolls, shapes, balances, safe landings and simple tumbling. Everything is taught in a supportive, confidence boosting way. ⭐ Creative Crafting Each session includes a themed craft activity — from designing medals and team flags to creating spring themed art. Children who prefer quieter activities can choose from colouring, Lego, puzzles and more. ⭐ Social Time & Free Play We offer a mix of structured activities and child led choices so every child feels comfortable and engaged.

THE STORY OF BARNSLEY COMMUNITY GYMNASTICS ACADEMY From Passion to Profession Barnsley Community Gymnastics Academy was started for the benefit of Barnsley and its people. The aim is to promote exercise with a focus on gymnastics that spans all the stages of life, and ability with inclusivity at its heart. To do this the charity aims to provide the best accessible facility it can, with state of the art equipment and excellent coaching. With a focus on mentoring and training young people as club helpers, coaches, judges and in events organisation, it seeks to raise aspiration among its young participants providing volunteering and employment opportunities that will help maintain physical and mental health.

A TYPICAL DAY 9.30 – 9.45 Arrival, welcome games, settling in 9.45 – 10.30 Gymnastics circuits, obstacle courses or team games 10.30 – 10.45 Snack time (fruit, veg, crackers, biscuits, water/Juice) 10.45 – 11.45 Crafting or creative activity 11.45 – 12.30 Gymnastics skills, group challenges or free choice play 12.30 – 1.00 Hot meal 1.00 – 1.30 Cool down games, reflection circle, home time ________________________________________ OUR STAFF Your child will be supported by a friendly, experienced team including: • Qualified gymnastics coaches with Enhances DBS checks • Staff with safeguarding, first aid and child development training • Volunteers and assistants who are trained and supervised • Leaders experienced in working with mixed ability groups and building confidence in children who may be nervous or new to gymnastics We pride ourselves on creating a warm, inclusive and encouraging environment where every child feels welcome. ________________________________________ SUITABLE FOR This club is suitable for children who can participate in a group setting with a 1:8 staff ratio. If your child has SEND needs, please contact us before booking so we can discuss how best to support them. This programme is fully funded for children receiving benefit related free school meals. ________________________________________ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Venue & Arrival Barnsley Community Gymnastics Academy 424 Carlton Rd, Carlton, Barnsley S71 3HX Example Menu Hot meals may include: • Pasta bolognese • Chicken curry & rice • Chicken/Pork with Mash & Vegetables • Jacket potatoes with fillings All meals meet school food standards. Vegetarian options available Snacks include fruit, veg sticks, crackers, sandwiches and crisps. If your child has allergies, dietary requirements, or medical needs, please tell us in advance so we can plan safely and ensure the right food is available. All medication or health information that may affect your child during the session must also be shared before attending.
