HAF Summer Adventures

Adoption East Midlands - HAF

A summary
Get ready for an action‑packed and creative summer with two fantastic opportunities for young people to get involved, try something new and have fun!
The Mill Adventure Base - This offers thrilling, age‑specific adventure days with Seniors (14–18 years) attending on 28 July and Juniors (10–13 years) on 29 July, running from 9am–3:30pm. Young people will enjoy outdoor challenges, team games and exciting activities designed to build confidence and create unforgettable memories — all in a fully accessible environment where everyone is welcome.
Mixed Art Group - Alongside this, the Mixed Arts Group which takes place on 3rd and 4th August, 10am–3pm, with the same age groups attending both days. Participants will explore music, drama, dance, and visual arts, with Day 2 giving young people the chance to develop and bring their own creative ideas to life. Attend both days for the full creative experience!
Summer Residential – We are pleased to share that we will be hosting a summer residential over two nights during the week commencing 24th August. This year’s residential will take a different format from previous years, with a stronger focus on youth voice and participation. Young people will have the opportunity to work together to share their experiences, shape discussions, and co-create resources that can support others.
Alongside this, there will still be opportunities to connect, reflect, and take part in supportive activities in a safe and inclusive environment. The residential will take place within the Newark and Sherwood district of Nottinghamshire. Full details, including the exact venue and programme information, will be shared as soon as they are available.
As part of the application process, we will also arrange conversations with individual applicants to ensure they feel prepared, supported, and ready to attend the residential.
