A summary

Welcome to Nature Explorers Holiday Club Plus (Ages 12–14)

Nature Explorers Holiday Club Plus is an exciting outdoor programme for young people aged 12–14 who are ready for adventure, challenge and creativity in the natural world.

Each day begins with the group coming together to plan, prepare and take on a new outdoor mission before heading out to explore local landscapes, coastlines and green spaces. Activities are designed to be more hands-on, skill-based and team-led, giving young people the chance to take responsibility, work together and build confidence in real outdoor environments.

Participants might take part in coastal expeditions, navigation and orienteering challenges, bushcraft skills such as fire lighting and outdoor cooking, or creative workshops inspired by nature, movement and music. They may work together to read maps and compass routes, solve challenges across varied terrain, build practical survival skills, and use the natural environment as inspiration for art, storytelling and self-expression.

Throughout the programme, young people will develop teamwork, leadership and communication skills through shared challenges, problem-solving tasks and group missions. There will also be opportunities to reflect, create and express themselves through music, spoken word, movement and land art, helping build confidence and personal identity.

No two days are the same, with activities adapted to weather conditions, group energy and the discoveries made along the way.

A healthy packed lunch and refreshments will be provided each day. Participants should come dressed for active outdoor learning, prepared for challenge, exploration and adventure in all weathers.

Weekly Activity Schedule
Day 1: Wilderness Quest Plus (Mon 3rd August)
A coastal expedition combining exploration and practical bushcraft skills. Young people will explore the shoreline to study local coastal wildlife before learning the essential survival skill of fire lighting. The session finishes with a well-earned outdoor hot chocolate, made using their new skills.

Day 2: Navigation Adventures (Wed 5th August)
A hands-on navigation challenge where participants learn how to read maps, use a compass and understand terrain. Working in teams, they will complete a structured orienteering-style course across the local landscape, building confidence, awareness and problem-solving skills.

Day 3: Dance, Beats & Bars Studio (Tue 11th August)
A creative movement and music production workshop combining dance, rhythm and spoken word. Young people will explore free movement and lyrical expression before collaborating to write, build and record an original track to take home.

Day 4: Roots & Wings, Creative Storytelling (Tue 18th August)
A session dedicated to identity, expression, and nature connectedness. Using entirely foraged, natural materials, participants will create unique pieces of land art and mixed-media creations. We will use these natural visuals to share stories, explore personal journeys, and connect with the environment around us.
