We're going on an adventure through Putney Heath and Wimbledon Common & you're totally invited!
Meet at the very top of Putney Heath, opposite the Green Man pub & bus stop at 9 am. We'll hang around for 15 minutes before we head into the heath, so please make sure you try and get to us before then! We'll aim to end up in the same place that we started. Should this not be possible, all parents will be informed an hour before pick-up time of the new pick-up location so that you can make reasonable transport adjustments.
Please ensure that each child brings:
a backpack that they can carry the whole day,
a packed lunch,
a water bottle,
spare clothes (extra layers so that your child can be comfortable in the event of a temperature change, or from spillages),
weather-appropriate clothing & accessories,
comfortable shoes
Bushcraft comprises a huge array of skills that have been passed down to us by our ancestors - an enormous catalogue of trials, successes and failures that enabled us to exist outside before the conveniences of modern-day life. We'll be walking through the woods, following whatever path we choose, and seeing what comes up along the way. Maybe we'll build dens, learn knots, bird language, tracking, or plant medicine... Maybe not. With six hours to kill, we'll only know what will happen when it happens!
