A summary
This activity is funded by Brighton and Hove Short Breaks. Children with special educational needs and disabilities are eligible to book. The council are asking for a contribution of £5 per hour. This session is for children who have had a social care assessment and require 1:1 support.
The day will consist of a carousel of activities led by our staff members, this ensures that each child will have a 1:1 and our SENDCo will be on site too.
The activities that will be included are:
● Messy play
● Water play
● Sensory breakout space
● Activ8 arts (music therapy, dance and movement, sensory crafts)
● Sensory circuits
● Nature hunt
★ Children will need to Bring their own packed lunch and any snacks.
★ Please pack a change of clothes and make sure your child is in clothes you don't mind getting dirty!
★ Please provide any personal care resources.
At our site we are also able to offer a range of facilities such as quiet and calm inside and outside areas to ensure that children can have some calm time if needed or a space away from the main group.
We have a number of support workers on site, trained to work with a variety of needs. All children will be given a key worker and we can include communication books and charts to help with the handover back to parents/carers.
Our company SENDCO will be in contact with all parents/carers before the start of the holidays to ensure we fully understand your child's needs and that staff are trained on any specific medication or support. Please ensure you have completed an up to date individual needs form.
