Activ8 HAF Activity Hub @Bevendean

Activ8 For Kids

A summary
Our Bevendean Activity Hub offers school aged children the opportunity to experience a range of activities, such as sports: football, basketball, tri golf, netball, handball, as well as themed arts and crafts, dance and drama.
All our sessions include snacks, a hot lunch and food based activities learning how to make meals or explore healthy foods.
There is something for everyone at our hub and children are able to choose which activities they would like to do each day.
At our site we are able to offer a range of facilities such as a ball bit, quiet spaces with sofas, quiet and calm outside areas to ensure that children can have some calm time if needed or a space away from the main group.
SEND Spaces:
We have SEND spaces each day during week 1 available to children with additional needs - please select the SEND ticket to identify your child needs extra support. This covers any level of additional needs up to 1:3. Please make us aware of your child's needs so that we can plan on how to support them appropriately.
We can support those children who need some extra support to take part and can offer a ratio of 1 to 3/4. This is ideal for children who are autistic, have ADHD, social and emotional concerns or who just need that closer attention. For children who require 1 to 1 support we have a separate listing as part of the short breaks where we can offer a dedicated support worker for each child.
We have a number of support workers on site, trained to work with a variety of needs. All children with SEND will be given a key worker and we can include communication books and charts to help with the handover back to parents/carers. On site we have PECS, a sensory area and quiet spaces for children who need that. The activities are all free choice and there is always something for them to do.
Our company SENDCO will be in contact with parents/carers of SEND children before the start of the holidays to ensure we fully understand your child's needs and that staff are trained on any specific medication or support. Please make sure you answer the booking questions in as much detail as possible and you can email further information to sendco@activ8forkids.co.uk

A few T&Cs from Brighton & Hove City Council:
• Eligibility criteria – Brighton & Hove HAF funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals.
• Limits on bookings – Over Spring, Eequ will permit each eligible participant to be booked on to 4 HAF places across all providers in the city. If a session is not attended, HAF places cannot be added back on to an individual’s allocation, regardless of reason. It is therefore important that sessions are cancelled before the activity starts, and ideally giving a minimum of a few days’ notice where possible to allow other children to benefit. Bookings can be managed by the Booker by logging into Eequ and reviewing their Schedule.
