A summary
House of Culture Brighton – Summer Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme We’re thrilled to be running our Summer in the City programme throughout the summer holidays, offering fun, creative sessions for children aged 5-12 years old. Our HAF summer sessions are packed with playful, creative activities, including: • Arts & Crafts – Try out painting, collage, clay work, and more, all inspired by the summer season. • Creative Play & Stories – Jump into fun games, role-play, and storytelling that spark imagination and confidence. • 3D Art & Sculpture – Get messy and creative with clay and other fun materials. • Summer-Themed Crafts – Make bright, cheerful decorations and take-home creations. Let’s Make This Summer One to Remember! At House of Culture Brighton, every child and young person can explore, create, and connect in a supportive space. Our summer programme is all about fun, creativity, and making new friends. Spaces are limited – book now to save your spot! We can’t wait to spend a colourful and creative summer with your children! A few T&Cs from Brighton & Hove City Council: • Eligibility criteria – Brighton & Hove HAF funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. • Limits on bookings – Over Summer, Eequ will permit each eligible participant to be booked on to 16 HAF places across all providers in the city. If a session is not attended, HAF places cannot be added back on to an individual’s allocation, regardless of reason. It is therefore important that sessions are cancelled before the activity starts, and ideally giving a minimum of a few days’ notice where possible to allow other children to benefit. Bookings can be managed by the Booker by logging into Eequ and reviewing their Schedule.

Creativity / Maker Mentor
My journey into creative mentoring started with my son, who’s neuro-divergent. Together we created The Sad Samurai to help him explore emotions through storytelling, which sparked my work supporting other young people through projects like Collective Minds, a mental health-focused theatre programme. I’ve completed Peer Support and Mental Health First Aid training, and I’m continuing to develop skills in youth coaching and facilitation. What I enjoy most is seeing confidence grow — when young people connect, express themselves, and feel heard.
