A SUMMARY

Join a team of like-minded women for a hearty walk that’s rich with heartfelt conversation and opportunities for connection to yourself, others and nature. This is a 4-day guided hiking trip, featuring nature connection activities, eco-therapy exercises, wilderness skill sharing and evening circle time. Taking place over the autumn equinox, this trip supports women to share with others their experience of change, mapped onto a beautiful walking route along a constantly changing coastline. Whether you’re starting a new job, ending a relationship or entering a new phase of life, we can all benefit from speaking honestly and listening to others. You’ll be heard and understood, and you’ll end the trip with a team at your back ready to support your next step. Route: Footpaths, beach, boardwalk and minor roads hugging the coast then turning inland. Accommodation: Shared rooms in B&Bs/hostels. Single supplement available on request. Difficulty: Stretching; walking distance 35 miles, 6-11...

Julia Gillick·Expedition Leader/Wilderness Guide
I am a wilderness therapy facilitator, with a background in teaching and expedition leading. Having grown up on a diet of Type 2 fun, served as an army cadet officer, travelled extensively and led youth expeditions all over the world, I walked a solo pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago, which inspired me to commit to a life of simplicity and freedom. My passion is to empower people to experience the positive benefits of time spent immersed in nature, to come into a more fulsome awareness of their own nature, and to access joy for themselves through a life of self-expression, honesty and courage. I grew up on the Norfolk coast and this is where I feel most at home, most free and most comfortable. My connection with this landscape enables me to encourage others to step into uncertainty, so that they can reclaim for themselves a sense of confidence and clarity, within the wilderness.

Learning aims

To connect to nature, ourselves and others.

Strengths to develop

We will be walking 33 miles over 4 days, carrying day-packs, putting one foot in front of the other, mirroring the process of change and inhabiting the concept of edginess by walking around a variable, multi-faceted coastline.
