Cancer Rehab: Guided Gym Session
Being active before, during and after cancer treatment.
Has cancer left you feeling fatigued?
Do you need to build your strength, fitness, flexibility and confidence? Why not come along to our cancer rehab guided gym class?
This session is particularly beneficial to people preparing for treatment, receiving treatment and recovering from treatment.
Sessions are specific to individuals depending on your ability and needs. Common themes within our sessions are a sense of community and support, a non-judgemental and safe place for everyone to talk, and exercise to improve your physical, social and mental wellbeing.
Sue, the class instructor, will guide you through safe and effective gym exercises. Sue holds a Level 3 Diploma in Exercise Referral and is a Level 4 Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation specialist instructor.
Suitable for all ages and abilities, including those requiring seated exercise.
Active Hastings wants everyone to be able to join in, no matter their budget.
We use a simple sliding scale ticket system so you can choose what you can afford:
• £3 – the suggested price that helps cover the cost of running the session
• £2 – a lower price if money is tight
• Free – for people on low incomes or receiving benefits
The free tickets work on trust. If you can pay £3 or £2, please do, so that the free tickets are available for those who really need them.
Participants are welcome to bring along a friend, partner, or carer to the session for free. Please book them a Free Friend/Partner ticket so we can include them in our numbers.
If you have any queries, please call the Active Hastings team on 01424 451051.
If you’ve had surgery within the past 12 weeks, it’s important you follow your doctor's advice on getting active again.
