What we'll do

Get ready for school holiday adventures at our HAF Holiday Club for 7–12 year olds and new for this year 11-17 yrs summer youth group. Meet and handle animals in our very own petting zoo, including reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, small mammals and even horses. The children won’t just watch – they’ll get involved, learn about each species, help care for them and build real confidence around animals. Days are packed with forest school experiences like bug hunts, designing bug hotels, plus relaxed picnics in the park and creative animal-themed arts and crafts. A healthy lunch is included, with children helping to prepare food, learning basic kitchen skills and gaining a deeper understanding of good nutrition. Every day is hands-on, outdoors.

Founded in 2014, Zoe’s Party Animals was created from a genuine passion for animals and a deep desire to inspire the next generation to develop curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love and respect for animals and the great outdoors. What started as a simple idea has grown into something truly special — a place where children don’t just attend a session… they experience it. Our Team Zoe’s Party Animals isn’t just me. I’m incredibly lucky to be supported by a small, dedicated team who help create the warm, family-friendly atmosphere we’re known for. We’re not just animal lovers — we’re experienced professionals with backgrounds in SEND support, education, care work, and animal welfare. Together, we create an environment that’s inclusive, nurturing, and full of fun — where every child and every guest is treated with kindness, patience, and respect. More Than Just Childcare We offer more than supervision — we create opportunities. At Zoe’s Party Animals, children are encouraged to thrive, build confidence, and learn new skills. Whether they’re handling animals, exploring nature, developing teamwork, or simply stepping outside their comfort zone, every session is designed to support growth in a hands-on, engaging way. We believe in learning through experience and fostering curiosity. Because childhood should be adventurous, educational, and filled with wonder.

Useful information

Dress for the weather: Our club is mostly outdoors, so please wear suitable clothing. Boots or wellies are recommended for our Autumn and Winter sessions. Bring a water bottle: Stay hydrated! No energy drinks allowed. No phone policy: We encourage kids to enjoy being kids and live in the moment. (Youth sessions- we ask for phones to be put away) Parking: Where possible, walk to the club or, if safe, park on Nottingham Road and walk down our drive. Animals onsite: We have horses, snakes, guinea pigs, chickens, rabbits, tortoises and dogs, and a whole lot more – all part of the experience! Location note: 34 Nottingham Rd, Selston, NG16 6DE Look out for the white HAF flag. **We are next door, NOT down the farm track.**

Learning aims

Aim 1

Strengthen social skills and teamwork through shared activities, group challenges and outdoor play.

Aim 2

Develop confidence around animals by learning how to safely handle, care for and understand reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, small mammals and horses.

Aim 3

Promote healthy lifestyles by learning basic kitchen skills, helping to prepare nutritious meals and developing a deeper understanding of good nutrition.

Reptile & Mammal exp

Animal Experience Afternoon 11-17yrs 05-08 14-08 Join us for a unique hands-on animal experience designed especially for young people. Spend the afternoon getting up close with a wide variety of animals, learning about their care, handling, welfare, behaviour, and individual personalities. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience, ask questions, and discover what it's really like to work with animals. Whether you already have pets of your own, dream of working with animals in the future, or simply love spending time around them, this session offers a fun and engaging insight into the animal world. After the animal activities, we'll relax together with a barbecue, followed by toasted marshmallows and s'mores around the fire pit – the perfect way to end a summer evening with like-minded animal lovers
