Young Orchardists in the dark

Rozita

A summary
Winter is on it’s way and we're continuing our new Orchard Forest School at Wilderness Wood - this term in the dark…
Orchards are one of the most biodiverse habitats in the UK, an ancient part of our heritage and community gathering spaces; so why shouldn't children be at the heart of them?
Our 6 evening sessions will be a dedicated Orchardists in the Dark programme, filled with night-time activities like catching moths, stargazing, campfire crafts and cooking, shadow-puppets and story-telling. As it's a night programme, it’s open for ages 8yrs+, we will enjoy cooking fruit over the fire, celebrate Solstice, and see the orchard go to sleep for winter - while having lots and lots of fun!
Combining practical orchard skills and community celebration with story, creativity, song, cooking and bush craft we will enjoy all that Forest School has to offer nestled among our beautiful fruit trees.
Sessions run on Tuesdays from 10th Nov and finish with a family end-of-term celebration night-walk on our last Tues 15th December 4-5:30pm (both groups combined). You can choose between a morning session from 10.00am-12pm or an after-school “Young Orchardists in the Dark” session from 4-5.30pm.
Open to ages 6-11 (yrs2-6), this is a drop-off space for children confident to be with a new group of friends outdoors in the coldest months.

Bursary Places
Every child has the right to connect with nature. Financial injustice is baked into the fabric of our economy, and those who stand to gain the most from nature are often systemically deprived of it. To allow access to those who often struggle with the cost to access forest school activities, tickets are available on a sliding scale at 3 price points.
➤ Bursary : £6 (£36) (limited places available but no questions asked just mention in your RSVP email)
To reserve your bursary spot email rozitaleetham@outlook.com. If the lower tier is still prohibitive, I can discuss extended payment plans, exchanges and other solutions - just get in touch.
Thanks for your help promoting economic justice!
