What we'll do
We are going to deliver an inclusive, youth led creative programme. Working with a professional creative writing practitioner, young people will co-write, produce and perform four original mini plays based on themes they chose themselves, including sensitive issues that reflect their lived experiences. The project builds confidence, creativity and collaboration while giving young voices a platform. We want to amplify the youth's voice and build pathways into a skill they may pursue.

About your mentor
Halton Speak Out
Ability for all. Opportunity for everyone
Halton speak out is a registered charity which operates a range of projects, based at Brookvale community, designed to help people of all ages from young children in schools, adults and older people in our community.
What we'll do
Over a 10-week period, your child will embark on an exciting artistic journey, collaborating with 11 other young people to co-write, produce and perform an original theatre piece. Working alongside professionals from the arts industry, participants will develop and perform original theatre that reflects the issues and ideas that matter most to them. Throughout the process, young people will explore storytelling, creativity and performance while addressing important and sometimes sensitive themes in a safe, supportive and guided environment. Each play will be professionally filmed by our cinematographer, alongside behind-the-scenes footage capturing the full creative process across the 10 weeks, including interviews with participants, rehearsals, bloopers and the journey of bringing a production to life. At the end of the programme, the completed films will be showcased at the Brindley Theatre for families, partners and stakeholders to celebrate the incredible work achieved by everyone involved. Please note that participants are expected to commit to all 10 weeks of the programme. If a participant misses two sessions, we may need to ask them to leave the project to ensure the integrity of the collaborative process.
Learning aims

Aim 4
To help young people discover and develop their passions within the arts.
