What we'll do
Our Summer Holiday Activity & Food programme will deliver a two-day residential retreat for children and families, based at an outdoor retreat setting in the Lake District. The programme offers a supportive, active holiday experience that combines physical activity, creative enrichment, environmental learning, and healthy food in a safe and inclusive environment. Across the two days, children and families will take part in structured outdoor games and team activities, dance and movement sessions, creative arts and nature-based crafts, and guided environmental activities using natural materials. Activities are designed to build confidence, teamwork, creativity, and wellbeing while encouraging children to be active and engaged outdoors. Nutritious vegetarian meals will be provided throughout the retreat, prepared in line with School Food Standards, with dietary requirements and allergies fully catered for. Food education and environmental awareness are embedded informally through shared meals, discussions about food waste and sustainability, and hands-on activities. The retreat is family-based, with parents and carers attending alongside children, and is delivered by experienced staff and qualified activity tutors. Reasonable adjustments will be made to support children with additional needs and disabilities, and activities are adapted to suit a range of ages and abilities. The summer retreat aims to provide a positive, memorable holiday experience that supports children’s physical health, confidence, and wellbeing while strengthening family relationships.
