What we'll do
Come and play, explore, make, and meet friends in the woods. Take part in preparing healthy lunches and snacks, and eat around the campfire in a relaxed environment.. There is plenty to explore, chill out on hammocks and a giant swing. Children will build dens and make nature crafts. Weatherstones Wood is a woodland holiday club, ideal for children who love nature and being in the outdoors With a maximum of 16 places, 8 HAF funded. These sessions are suited to SEN and neurodivergent children and those that find larger groups difficult and indoor environments over stimulating. Parents/carers of SEN children that need 1:1 support are most welcome to come too.

Weatherstones Wood
A nature's classroom for the curious
At Weatherstones Wood, we offer nature’s classroom for the curious—a place where learning, healing, and creativity take root. Set within five acres of regenerating woodland on the Wirral Peninsula, we run forest school sessions, therapeutic outdoor programmes, and hands-on creative workshops that help people of all ages reconnect with the natural world—and themselves. Everything we do is rooted in care, curiosity, and the belief that nature is our greatest teacher. Weatherstones Wood was founded by Alice, an experienced Forest School leader, artist, SEN practitioner and woodland steward. With over 25 years working with children and adults in outdoor settings, Alice brings a rare blend of creativity, therapeutic insight, and practical know-how. She has supported countless neurodiverse learners, worked in primary schools for over two decades, and trained other Forest School leaders—always championing hands-on, inclusive learning.

Transport
There is an option for a minibus pick up from a local school in Neston (details to be confirmed soon). If you need a transport please send us an email or message via eequ to be added to the minibus. If you have your own transport, we will meet you at the car park. Follow navigation to Wirral horse riding centre and turn right just before it to Haddon Lane, follow the road until the carpark.

What you'll need
Please make sure your child comes in suitable clothing for a day in the outdoors. We recommend strong shoes, long sleeved tops and trousers. Waterproof outer wear. If your child enjoys getting muddy bring a change of clothes! If it's sunny please provide a sunhat and sun cream. There are insects in the woods, if you know your child reacts to bites please bring an insect repellant or give us permission to use ours on your child.
