A summary
Ready to trade your screen time for some serious skill building sessions? Whether you’re a pro at marshmallow-toasting, a master of tent-pitching, or you’ve never cooked on a trangia in your life, we want YOU in the woods! We’re kicking off four weeks of pure outdoor magic, and learning to be an awesome adventurer: we’ll be sharpening our life skills, whipping up delicious campfire feasts, and diving head-first into some seriously cool activities such as code breaking, pitching tents and building shelters. Week 1: Tues 28th July - Campfire/ shelter building/ kit assembly Week 2: Tues 4th Aug - Tent building/ fruit kebabs/ healthy eating Week 3: Tues 11th Aug - Burger making/ crack the code/ campfire Week 4: Tues 18th Aug - High and low ropes course/ sandwich making Come hang out, learn some new skills, and make some epic memories under the trees. You Can Community Club
Charity in Salford working with mild/ low level SEND.
You Can's youth clubs provide a supportive environment tailored for young people with mild to low level SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. By offering fun activities and opportunities for socialisation, the clubs aim to help members develop new skills and grow towards greater independence, ultimately enabling them to realise their full potential. Please note that we do not provide 1:1 support including with personal care or administering of medication.
Info For Parents
Please note that all of the sessions during the 4 weeks will be mainly outdoors at the Deans Centre. For the sessions, the young people will please need to; - wear comfortable and weather appropriate clothing - wear comfortable footwear and trainers for week 4 as the members will be climbing on the ropes course - if the weather is hot and sunny, please make sure that the member wears and brings with them sun cream/ hats - bring a packed lunch and drink For all sessions apart from week 3 where lunch will be provided, members must bring a packed lunch. In week 4, the members will be making their own sandwiches for lunch however, if the young person does not like sandwiches, they will need to please bring their own food. Please note that our sessions are for members ONLY. If your child is not a member and has not attended a You Can session previously, please email info@you-can.me.uk for a membership form and more info. Young people will not be able to attend until a membership form has been completed, reviewed and we have been in touch to confirm membership. Please also note that our sessions are for young people age 11-17years with mild to low level SEND needs.
