A summary

Are you looking to build a career that fits around family life? We support mums like you to rebuild your confidence and help you on your journey to find work that works for you and your family. We are here to support you to recognise your own brilliance and build a financially secure future for you and your children.

Our training, work experience and career coaching programmes are open to mums currently receiving benefits and looking to find meaningful work. There are no ‘entry requirements’ as such but we want to see that you’ve spent some time working, volunteering or training at some point.

Adults 18+

This ticket is free for qualifying mums.

Qualifications

We don’t mind what qualifications you have either (although showing us you have an interest in developing yourself is great!). Experience of using computers for things like emailing and writing documents is an advantage but not essential.

Childcare

If you have children younger than school age you are welcome to apply but will need to have childcare organised for both the training and the work placement (your work coach can help with this via the Flexible Support Fund).

About your mentor

Women's Work Lab

We help Mums transform their lives.

Women's Work Lab

We help Mums transform their lives by rebuilding confidence and helping them on their journey to find work that works for them and their families. Our 9-month programmes combine bespoke classroom training, work placement, 121 career coaching and mentoring. We exist to facilitate our Mums to become the best versions of themselves, whatever that looks like. Ambition is unique to an individual; we always aim to help someone identify it and then take the necessary steps to achieve it.

Aim 1

Our programme is based on the HIVE model - we look at History, Insight, Values and Employability. All through practical classroom-based learning.

Aim 2

Cancellation policy

Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
