A summary

Every week in term time there will be a healthy food based challenge, either around a specific type of meal or food. Then the fun starts.

A full meal, usually savoury, has to be researched/decided on, ingredients source, cooked and presented to either a group of peers where they each get to taste each others creations, or as a family meal.

For example, one week the brief may be cauliflower and any meal can be made using cauliflower as its base - i.e. cauliflower and pea curry with rice and naan bread, cauliflower pizza base with sundried tomato, mozzarella, and bazil topping, etc.

The idea is that the children learn to research different recipes, try new tastes and share their creations. As everyone's diet is different the meals can be meat based, vegan, simple or very elaborate.

The topic will be given out on a Friday and the child will have a whole week to research, source ingredients and cook their meal before sharing it with the group on the next Friday.

I am a mum of two home schooled girls and a trained Nutritional Therapist, Iridologist & Access Bars Practitioner. Over the years I've realised through working with clients and meeting other families, that the essential life skills of being able to cook your own delicious meal is being lost. Also the knowledge of which foods nourish and which deplete your body of nutrients is something that many people don't know. Through teaching children to try new foods, cook their own delicious meals, share their creations with peers and family this knowledge and essential life skill will be nurtured and built on throughout their life. I am passionate about giving people the tools to nourish a healthy body.
