A summary
In this workshop we’ll be kindling curiosity for willow weaving by learning how to make a simple ‘cup and ball’ game.
This project is perfect for a Forest school setting and a great introduction to some traditional basketry techniques.
In our workshop we will look at:
* buying, storing and preparing basketry willow
* how to introduce willow weaving to children
* some traditional basket making techniques including pairing, randing and track borders
As well as going home with your ‘cup and ball’ game, you’ll also be equipped with ideas of how to apply this process in your Forest school setting. The Coddiwomplers will be open all weekend selling our willow goodies and for drop in willow weaving workshops.
