Waymaking RAP with Matt Windle

Greenwood Growth CIC

A summary
Would you like to spend time outdoors in a small, supportive group? Waymaking at Ilam Park is a gentle creative wellbeing session for young people educated at home who would like to explore nature, move at an easy pace and try simple art or noticing activities, working with a rhythm and poetry artist (RAP).
You can take part in the way that feels right for you: walking, pausing, looking, listening, making, or simply being in the landscape. There is no pressure to perform, talk, or share more than you want to.

£0Why Waymaking?
Waymaking is well suited to young people who may benefit from low-pressure social contact, sensory awareness, predictable group activity and time outdoors. It combines walks with creative prompts and opportunities to connect with the landscape at a comfortable pace. Participants do not need to be “good at art” or confident walkers; the focus is on curiosity, choice, participation and feeling safe enough to engage.
Why Ilam Park?
Ilam Park offers an inspiring and memorable setting, with open green space, gardens, riverside views and places to pause. Its mix of natural beauty and visitor facilities makes it a strong location for a supported outdoor wellbeing session. The programme is designed around quieter meeting points, clear arrival information, familiar staff or volunteers, and simple choices so participants know what to expect before and during the visit.
