A summary

Forest School inspired sessions for pre-schoolers and their adults. We run term time in rain and sun. Tickets cover an adult and one child for the term. Please only book for the child you are paying for when booking (ie. not yourself). Siblings under 2 years are free and do not need to be booked but you can let me know in the notes. A maximum of one adult to three children (including under twos). We have a beautiful site to explore and a chance to climb, balance, build dens, crafts, a campfire snack cooked over the fire and sometimes a story. We run across the year so dress for the weather. A small campfire snack is provided but do bring extras for your child - the outdoors makes us all hungry. A hot drink in a lidded cup is also recommended for the adults. A maximum of one adult to three children (including under twos). ****************************************************************************** Forest Tots is at the Hill End Centre on the Eynsham Road, Oxford, OX2 9NJ Instructions on our exact location at Hill End will be given after you have booked and before the start of term. We welcome ages from 0- 5 years at Forest Tots. Whilst nature is a great space for all ages I do recommend your little one to be a confident walker to get the most from the session. However, we do welcome many younger, non walking siblings. There are toilets on site but they are quite a walk away from the FS site – either go beforehand or be prepared to use a bush! A small campfire snack is provided but do bring extras for your child - the outdoors makes us all hungry. A hot drink in a lidded cup is also recommended for the adults. What happens at FT?

Forest Tots happens in the beautiful ancient woodland of Hill End/Wytham. Not every session will look the same and will change according to the season -but generally there may be a fire, storytelling, a craft activity, bug hunting as well as a mud kitchen, den building, tree climbing, puddle splashing etc! We have an ethos of child led, free play. This won’t be a structured session with laid out “entertainment’ – we hope the children will be able to make their own play whilst the adults may mindfully observe, gently support, wander or chat to one another! Please do make sure your needs are met too and feel free to ask me for anything you may be unsure about.

I have two young children myself and I know how hard it can be - getting out, staying out, staying enthused. I also see the positive effects being out in nature has on my children and those I work with. Improved mood, socialising and the precious nap time post session, and it's all even better when the adults have company too! I wanted Forest Tots to take away some of the stresses of getting out into the woods, provide a community for the adults and connect with nature across the seasons. I've worked as a teacher for in both mainstream and SEN for many years an I am a qualified Forest School Leader. Outside of Forest Tots I work with young adults and children, outdoors and in nature.
