A summary
Get ready for an exciting transport-themed week at Alt-Ed Lincs! Children will explore how transport has changed through history and how people travel on land, at sea and in the air. Activities may include designing and building Formula One racing cars, taking part in Scalextric racing tournaments, Lego vehicle building challenges, creating and testing paper aeroplanes and parachutes, and designing their own futuristic vehicles. Learners will also explore famous forms of transport, including the Titanic and modern cruise ships, comparing how travel has changed over time. They will take part in hands-on STEM challenges, model making, creative design activities and team competitions throughout the week. We are hoping to welcome specialist visitors, including emergency service and military representatives, giving children the opportunity to learn about police vehicles, military transport and logistics. Depending on availability, learners may also enjoy visits to Newark Air Museum or Lincolnshire Life Museum to explore historic aircraft, vehicles and transport technology. Alongside the themed activities, children will enjoy healthy lunches and snacks, outdoor games, cooking activities and opportunities to develop confidence, communication and teamwork in a calm, supportive environment. Alt-Ed Lincs is a specialist SEND provision offering small group sizes, experienced staff and a nurturing approach to ensure all children can take part and enjoy the experience.
