A summary
During the school holidays, children aged 7–14 are welcomed to our exciting and active holiday sessions run by London Tigers, where every day is designed to be fun, engaging and supportive. Arrival and Welcome When children arrive, they are greeted by our friendly and experienced coaches who help them settle in and introduce them to the group. We begin with a short welcome circle where the day’s activities are explained so everyone knows what to expect. Children are placed into small groups appropriate to their age and ability, helping them feel comfortable, safe and able to participate confidently. Morning Activities – Football Skills and Games The morning starts with energetic football training activities. Children practise important skills such as: Dribbling through cones Short passing with teammates Shooting at goal Ball control and movement These drills are followed by small-sided football matches, where children work as a team, communicate and enjoy the excitement of scoring and defending together. Coaches focus on teamwork, confidence building and fair play so that every child feels included and supported. Midday Break and Healthy Meal In the middle of the day, children take a break to relax and socialise while enjoying a healthy and nutritious meal. Meals may include options such as sandwiches or wraps, fruit, vegetables and healthy snacks. This time also allows children to talk with friends and learn about the importance of healthy eating and staying active. Afternoon Activities – Cricket and Multi-Sport Games After lunch, children take part in cricket activities and fun challenges. They learn the fundamentals of the sport, including: How to hold and swing a bat correctly Batting against soft cricket balls Bowling techniques Fielding and catching drills These activities often lead into mini cricket games and team challenges, giving every child the chance to try batting, bowling and fielding in a relaxed and supportive environment. Children will also have opportunities to take part in other fun sports games and team activities, and there will always be choices available so that children who prefer different activities can still stay active and engaged. Facilities and Environment Sessions take place in safe indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing children to enjoy fresh air and active play outside while also having access to indoor areas for breaks, group activities and mealtimes. Group Sizes and Support Children are supervised in small groups by trained coaches, ensuring everyone receives attention, encouragement and guidance. Activities are adapted so that younger and older participants are appropriately supported, helping all children develop at their own pace. Experienced Staff and Inclusive Environment Our sessions are delivered by qualified and experienced sports coaches and youth workers who are passionate about helping young people stay active and build confidence. Staff create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels valued. End of the Day At the end of the session, children come together to reflect on the day, celebrate their achievements and share what they enjoyed most. They leave feeling proud of the new skills they have learnt, the games they have played and the friendships they have built. Through these sessions, London Tigers continues its mission of creating opportunities, promoting healthy lifestyles and improving the lives of young people in the community.
