A summary
We provide lots of fun activities for all children to make their own decisions to take part in. Some of the activities we are planning include painting, cooking, water play, clay designs, junk modelling, jewellery making, football skills, tennis and badminton. We have a big playground for children to run, play chase, play hide and seek, many different structures to climb and test balance skills on our wooden beams. There is a city farm which houses a pony, turkeys, chickens, ducks, rabbits and guinea pigs. Children are able to take part in looking after all the animals, prepping food, feeding, grooming, petting and cleaning out enclosures. They will learn to look after the animals through everyday interaction picking up new skills. This summer we have a qualified first aider visiting who will be teaching children basic first aid techniques. Children will be able to choose to take part in this particular session. Another key activity will be cooking, learning to cook safely with different utensils, try different recipes and adapting flavours to encourage tasting of their creations. We will be running our garden club, planting, learning about the flowers, trees and our crops. We will be picking some of these and using them in our different recipes. Weather permitting we will have lots of fun on our water slide.

About your mentor
NewArk Play Association
We believe in children's right to play.
We are a charity which began in 1976, offering many different stimulating play opportunities using our traditional adventure playground, eco garden and city farm. We have been bringing joy to many children for nearly 50 years and believe that all children have a right to play in a safe environment. Children are able to access our city farm which is the only one in Peterborough, they are able to experience hands on encounters with a wide range of animals. Our unique playground allows children to run, climb and problem solve allowing them to thrive and make positive frienships.
