Teens Crafty Days at Ragtag

Join us for two inspiring creative days this summer, where young people can explore new artistic skills and make unique handmade projects with friends. Monday 17th August – Ceramics Clocks Young people will design and create their own ceramic wall clock using clay. They will explore a range of surface decoration techniques, using coloured slips to add texture, pattern, and detail to their designs. Once completed, the clocks will be professionally fired, and glazed in a kiln, resulting in a high-quality finished piece to take home. Participants will also have the opportunity to have a go on the potter’s wheel and experience working with clay in a different way. This session will take place at our pottery studio in Mealbank. Young people will be collected from Ragtag Arts, Elephant Yard, Kendal, and transported to the studio. Monday 24th August – Felt Making Young people will experiment with felt-making techniques to create a decorative case for an iPad, tablet, or mobile phone. There will also be the opportunity to make felt beads, buttons and tassels to decorate your case. On both days, we will take a local walk to stretch our legs and get some fresh air These creative days offer a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, make friends, and create something unique in a fun and supportive environment.
