What we'll do

Join us for our popular Summer Theatre School and Youth Theatre Programme! This year, enjoy four days packed with acting, improvisation, voice training, and dance masterclasses led by our professional choreographer. Plus, take part in games, singing, costume making, prop crafting, and more! Event Details: - Dates: 3rd-6th August 2026 - Times: 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM - Location: Brighton BHASVIC Grove Social NB. New times and venue ! This year HAF offer providing 4 free days Mon to Thurs. Free hours are 9.30 -3.30pm We are running this programme from 9.30 -5.00pm and if you would like a late finish to 5.00pm there will be a charge £10.00 per day £40.00 in total. This must be booked in advance.. What's Included: - Free lunch for HAF participants. - Activities include warm-ups, theatre games, and group sessions focusing on acting, singing, and dancing. - Everyone is welcome to join in the dance routines and drama. - Experience backstage activities like prop making and design challenges. Showcase: We will present three mini showcases. Parents and carers are invited to an informal showing at Grove Social Space, providing a lovely opportunity to see what the children have achieved. Drama Dance Club Sussex formerly Drama Kids Sussex

Hello! Our team have been running performing arts holiday clubs since 2018 in Brighton, Hove and Worthing. Our friendly + inclusive clubs are run by experienced and fully trained professionals with a wealth of experience in theatre, film making and teaching young people. We’ve been approved providers since 2020 with Brighton, Hove and West Sussex local authorities delivering the Holiday Activity and Food programme.

Learning aims

Aim 1

One of the greatest life skills we can teach our kids is to communicate confidently. This is why drama is such a valuable tool in preparing them to be all they can be in the world.

Aim 3

Movement Physical expression, miming to music, and a bit of dance –though no dancing shoes are required. As well as improving their coordination, students learn to feel good in their own bodies, improve their posture and hold their own in a social and creative space.

Aim 2

Speech Our strong focus on verbal dynamics and English language helps students to develop a clear, compelling voice and good listening skills. Immensely useful stuff, whether they’re expressing themselves on a public or theatrical stage.

Aim 4

Drama We stimulate creativity through structured improvisation, dialogue, characterisation, snippets, scene starters, and acting out original scripts as an ensemble. This practice goes beyond stage skills, helping kids to socialise and overcome shyness in groups.

HAF Conditions

A few T&Cs from Brighton & Hove City Council: • Eligibility criteria – Brighton & Hove HAF-funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. • Limits on bookings – Over Summer, EEQU will permit each eligible participant to be booked on to 16 HAF places across all providers in the city. If a session is not attended, HAF places cannot be added back onto an individual’s allocation, regardless of reason. It is therefore important that sessions are cancelled before the activity starts, and ideally, giving a minimum of a few days’ notice where possible to allow other children to benefit. Bookings can be managed by the Booker by logging into EEQU and reviewing their Schedule.
