CHANGES TO FREE SCHOOL MEALS FROM SEPTEMBER 2026 Parents and carers should have been contacted before the summer about changes to free school meals. Only children and young people in Reception to Year 11 who receive TARGETED free school meals can now access the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. If you are unsure, please ask your child's school. WHAT IS HAF? Funded by the Department for Education, HAF provides free enriching holiday activities with a meal during the longer school holidays. Thanks to Crisis Resilience Funding, we are introducing a small number of family-focused HAF activities during October 2026 and February 2027 half-term. Eligible children must attend with an adult, and each child can be booked on up to two sessions. A meal will be provided for all participants.
