What we'll doWhat we’ll do
In this Intermediate Street Art session, young artists will develop their spray-paint and stencil skills further, working towards a more considered and visually layered final piece.
Street art is now part of the UK curriculum, but it’s rare to have the opportunity to work with authentic, artist-grade pressurised spray paints in a structured learning environment. Students will build on foundational can-control techniques and begin exploring more advanced methods, including layering stencils, combining stencil elements, and developing a clear visual idea.
We’ll also introduce digital design concepts alongside traditional hand-cut stencil techniques, giving students experience in both modern and analogue processes. Young artists will create custom stencil elements and experiment with combining digital-style planning with hands-on making — an approach often used by professional street artists.
We’ll explore how street art connects to personal identity, subcultures, and everyday visual culture, while continuing to refine technical skills. This session encourages more independent decision-making and thoughtful planning, making it especially suitable for young people working towards GCSE Art or Arts Award.
Students will create a finished artwork on an A2 board to take home.

Session Format
Each session lasts 2 hours, allowing time for deeper focus and more detailed work than the Intro class.
This class can be enjoyed as a standalone session, and students will leave with new skills they can continue exploring at home (with their own materials). Booking two sessions, however, allows for deeper skill development, more confident layering, and a more resolved final artwork with guided support.
There are four dates available — you may book one or more.
⸻
Who is this for?
This class is ideal for young people who have already tried spray art before, enjoy art and design, or want to develop stronger portfolio-style work. It supports progression toward GCSE-level thinking and can contribute toward Arts Award Bronze or Silver.

Session Information • Each session lasts 2 hours • Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time for registration and housekeeping • Late arrivals cannot be admitted For health and safety reasons, the building doors are locked 5 minutes before the session begins. The studio is located on the second floor, and it is not possible to interrupt the class to allow late entry. Important safety instruction takes place at the start of each session, and late entry would disrupt both learning and group safety. Please do not call if you are running late, as the tutor will be teaching. Depending on circumstances, a reschedule may be considered, but this cannot be guaranteed.
