About me. I’m Sarah Gillings, aka SOS — a socially engaged artist, educator and social entrepreneur based in Lewes. I hold an MA in Inclusive Arts Practice from the University of Brighton and founded the charity U CAN Spray. My street art workshops combine spray painting, stencils and playful experimentation. I help participants build creative skills, express their ideas and grow in confidence while making something they’re proud of. My approach is welcoming and inclusive, with encouragement for different abilities, learning styles and ways of joining in. Whether you’re full of ideas or unsure where to start, you don’t need previous experience to take part. Alongside teaching, I create public artworks and lead community projects in the UK and internationally. Accessibility, social justice and sustainability are central to my practice. I believe art can connect people, open up conversations and give us new ways to express ourselves.
