A summary
Children will work together in small, friendly groups to build and bring a real robot to life in a fun and supportive setting. They’ll carefully join the pieces together, make it move, and guide it through exciting obstacle courses using simple, easy-to-follow steps; no experience needed at all. Every child is encouraged to share ideas, try new things and learn through hands-on activities in a relaxed and positive environment. Each day also includes active indoor games to keep energy levels high, teamwork challenges to build confidence, and healthy snack breaks with simple “food as fuel” learning so they understand how to look after their bodies as well as their minds. This programme is a wonderful starting point for children who love building, creating and figuring things out. It helps develop natural problem-solving skills, resilience and logical thinking; strong foundations for future interests in engineering, technology and other creative careers. By the end, they’ll proudly showcase a robot they created together, leaving with new skills, new friendships and a real sense of achievement.

About your mentor
Ark Education & Ark Tuition Centre
Learning made simple
At Ark Education Centre and Ark Tuition, we are dedicated to providing engaging and supportive learning experiences for young learners across East London. Our centre, located on Ilford High Road, offers high-quality tuition and exam support for students aged 8–18, with a strong emphasis on personalised learning, small class sizes, and access to recognised qualifications such as GCSEs and A Levels. We are an Ofsted-registered education provider and an approved exam centre, ensuring a secure, inclusive and academically enriching environment for all our learners. Building on this foundation of academic excellence and hands-on support, our Robotics Holiday Club combines STEM learning with fun, creative challenges — giving children the opportunity to explore robotics, develop critical thinking and teamwork skills, and ignite their passion for technology during the holidays.
Powered by Real-World Technology Used by Engineers and Developers
Children will be introduced to real-world tools used by engineers and developers in a simplified, age-appropriate way. They’ll begin with Scratch-style block coding to understand the logic behind programming, then explore simple Python concepts to see how real code works. Their robot will be powered by an Arduino microcontroller, programmed using beginner-friendly C-based commands to control movement and sensors. It’s a gentle but impressive introduction to genuine engineering and coding foundations, delivered in a way that’s clear, engaging and confidence-building for young learners.
