A summary
Sunderland Training and Education Farm Is a non-profit making organisation. It has 40 acres of land. It was commissioned by Jeanette Chapman in December 2003 who saw an opportunity to create a community resource centre for locals. It is led by independent management of 10 members, this consists of local residents, community development workers, a farmer, a mental health worker and a counselling advisor. The farm is open to all ages for educational visits, training, work experience opportunities and leisure activities.
The farm aims are:
Empower the citizens of Sunderland to enable them to improve thier quality of life.
Improve the educational, social, welfare and leisure oppurtunites of children and adults in the area.
Work in partnership with other agenices and citzens of Sunderland.
STEF not only provides training it is also an action packed educational experience for visitors and volunteers of all ages.
