A summary
Join us for a fun-filled forest school style session on St Ann's Community Orchard. The Orchard is a beautfiful wild green space with ponds, streams bridges, fire pit and a cosy Strawbale building - perfect for our youth adventure holiday club. The 13 plots provide a fantastic open space to run around, explore the space, play dobby and let of steam. There will be a range of creative and hands-on activities alongside learning about plant and wildlife identification, use of tools and fire lighting, all expertly led by our forest school practitioners. Young people will also learn a lot about good nutrition, food and food growing. There willl be opportunity to harvest produce and food preparation in the outdoor kitchen. This is a perfect way for young people to enjoy the holidays for a day filled with outdoor fun, exploration and learning, all immersed in natural surroundings.

Serving communities around St Ann's Allotments
STAA is a small charity based at the historic St Ann's Allotments site, just a mile from the bustling city centre of Nottingham. STAA manages a number of highly regarded projects across 30+ plots at St Ann's Allotments providing community benefit & offering a wide variety of volunteering opportunities. Our projects make a significant contribution to the upkeep of this amazing Grade 2* listed heritage site and the preservation of habitat and wildlife in the urban oasis at St Ann's Allotments.
What we'll do
Children attending our HAF programme will take part in a range of outdoor, practical and creative activities designed to build confidence, teamwork and a connection with nature. Children will be encouraged to explore, play and develop new skills through a mixture of structured sessions and free exploration. Activities will include: Orienteering Swing ball & team games Archery Whittling & simple woodcraft and toolbased activities Food is also an important and central part of the programme. Children will have opportunities to assist with food preparation which in turn will learn where food comes from and how to prepare healthy, nutritious meals. All meals are prepared using harvested produce for our project sites.
