Inclusive SEND Swim Session/Lesson – Parent & Child in the Water Our inclusive swimming lessons/sessions are designed for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), creating a supportive and relaxed environment for the whole family. **Parents/carers must be in the water with their child for the duration of each lesson.** This provides comfort, reassurance, and a familiar point of connection to help children feel safe and confident. A specialist instructor remains poolside throughout each lesson, offering guidance, support, and direction as needed to help you get the most out of your time together. Each child benefits from a 1:1 ratio in the water (one adult per child) allowing every lesson/session to be tailored to their individual needs. Depending on the child, this may include gentle structure and skill-building or a more play-based, sensory-focused experience that prioritises enjoyment and confidence. Lessons/sessions are designed to help children: * Build water confidence at their own pace * Develop safety awareness and basic swim skills * Enjoy positive, pressure-free experiences in the water Our aim is to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive space where every child feels supported and able to thrive. About your mentor
Turtle Tots Halton
Promoting inclusion in swimming.
Jen joined Turtle Tots in the summer of 2021, bringing with her valuable experience supporting young adults and children with learning disabilities to access social opportunities and education. She is passionate about helping children build water confidence and develop essential safety skills while learning to swim in a fully inclusive and supportive environment. Jen has also partnered with Halton Borough Council to deliver inclusive swimming lessons, reflecting her strong belief that swimming should be accessible to all. Inclusivity is at the heart of everything she does, and she is committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive in the water. Jen’s greatest joy comes from seeing children happy, engaged, and, most importantly, having fun as they learn. She currently teaches at Hale and Haydock. After two successful years teaching under another franchise owner, Jen took the plunge and purchased her own franchise. She is excited about the future and looks forward to embracing the opportunities and challenges this new chapter will bring.
Sundays - Term Time
Lessons run as weekly 1-hour sessions, with changing time included within the hour. Lesson times are: Tuesdays at 3:45pm - with 15 minutes change time at 4.30pm -4.45pm Arriving pool ready will make the most of your time. Lessons/sessions run during term time, operating for 35 weeks of the year. Lessons/sessions are FREE
