A summary
Spill the Tea - An Intergenerational LGBTQ+ Tea Party An opportunity for LGBTQIA+ folks of all ages to come together and share our stories and experiences over tea, coffee, and cake. Whether you are an older member of the LGBTQIA+ community looking to pass on your knowledge and experience, or a younger queer person wanting to connect with your wider community, we invite you to join us for an afternoon of friendly conversation and fun for all ages. A space inclusive space for experience to be shared and reflected on.
About your mentor
Black Sheep Collective CIC
Proudly outside the flock.
Black Sheep Collective delivers inclusive, creative sessions for children and families who may feel a little outside the norm. We create safe, welcoming spaces where everyone is encouraged to be themselves, explore their creativity, and connect with others. Our workshops use art, movement, and play to support confidence, self-expression, and wellbeing. We believe that every child and family deserves to feel seen, valued, and included—especially those who might not always feel like they fit in. Whether it’s through crafts, storytelling, or creative activities, Black Sheep Collective is all about celebrating difference and helping communities grow stronger, together. Black Sheep Collective nurtures creative expression and supports participants in developing their skills and confidence in authentic collaborative opportunities. The groups will work towards termly sharing's and annual performances. The sessions are affordable, inclusive and remove the pressure of stage school provision.
who is this event?
We suggest our event is most suitable for those aged 14 - 104(!) but please don't feel that you must be a particular age to join us. We would love a wide mix of age ranges, backgrounds, and experiences. Those under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. By older members of the LGBTQIA+ community we mean those who may act as mentors or historians, and have a solid amount of lived experience - not necessarily those who are over a certain age bracket! Someone who is 26 may be inspirational to someone aged 14 - and vice versa!
What is the event for?
In recent years, we have lost many shared spaces for LGBTQIA+ people, resulting in a lack of cross-generational conversation and community. We believe these spaces are vital to preserve history, prevent isolation, and help strengthen our community. Our Tea Party provides a safe space to bridge the gap between elders and younger community members - a space where we can share queer history, lived experience and wisdom, no matter our age.
