About your mentor
South Cumbria Skills Exchange
Your Future, Your Skills, Your Way
South Cumbria Skills Exchange is a community-led training organisation based in Millom, operated by Whamos Training and Development CIC. We support people who face barriers to education, work, or digital access, with a focus on practical skills that lead to real outcomes. Our work covers digital skills, media production, functional English and Maths, and creative and technical learning, delivered in small groups or one-to-one. We work closely with local partners, schools, councils, and community groups to respond to local need rather than run fixed programmes. Our approach is flexible, supportive, and grounded in what works in practice, particularly for neurodivergent learners and those furthest from the labour market.
Additional Info
The programme is delivered by experienced staff in a safe, supervised setting and is designed to support confidence, creativity, and wellbeing. Activities are structured but flexible, allowing children to choose how they take part. Families are welcome to stay on site if this supports attendance, and informal signposting to local support services is available where needed. The programme addresses a gap in local holiday provision by offering skills-based activities not otherwise available in the area.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
