A summary
Welcome to our HAF Nature Days! Get out and active exploring nature, then head back to Slapton Ley Field Centre for a hot lunch. Monday 7th April: Survive in the wild! We will head to the woods to practice the skills needed to survive the wild including shelter building, orienteering, fire lighting and foraging. Tuesday 8th April: Wildlife explorer. Pond dipping in Slapton Ley to see what creatures are lurking beneath the surface and lots of wildlife-based games around Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve. (Please note this day will involve around 2-3km of walking). Wednesday 9th April: Rock pooling at East Prawle. Explore this mysterious tidal environment and find some weird and wonderful creatures. Have a go at our rock pool scavenger hunt. (Please note this day will involve around 4- 5km of walking, some of this will be hills). Thursday 10th April: Coastal adventure. Have a go at beach bouldering at Mattiscombe Sands and explore the craggy coastline around Start Point – hopefully spotting a few seals on the way. (Please note this day will involve around 3 - 4 km of walking, some of this will be hills). To book on, follow the booking system to add your child's details, your eligibility will be verified, and you will then receive an email confirmation once your place is secure.
