About your mentor
Shpresa Programme
All together we can make a difference.
Shpresa Programme is a leading migrant-led organisation drawing on lived experience to empower individuals, strengthen communities, and create lasting systemic change. Founded in 2002 to support the Albanian-speaking community, Shpresa has grown into a respected, trusted, evidence-driven organisation representing and serving migrants from a wide range of backgrounds across the UK. Our mission is to enable migrants to achieve their potential and contribute actively to British society through education, leadership, and civic engagement. We believe that when migrants are supported to lead, they become powerful drivers of social and economic progress and become champions for a more integrated society. Shpresa is a user-led organisation, which means the needs and aspirations of our community guide our planning, design and delivery. We take a holistic approach operating on the principles of social inclusion, co-production, empowerment and sustainability. Our lived experiences and values inform and drive our work. We design and deliver programmes using a family approach and meaningful partnerships, responding directly to community needs while aligning with national and local policy priorities.
Holiday Activities
Our holiday programme is packed with fun and engaging activities designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and keep children active and entertained. Participants can explore a variety of experiences, including: Arts and Crafts – From painting and drawing to egg decorating and DIY projects, children can express themselves creatively while developing fine motor skills and imagination. Drama – Interactive drama sessions encourage self-expression, storytelling, and teamwork, allowing children to step into different roles and bring their ideas to life. Dance – Energetic dance workshops introduce children to different styles, helping them build coordination, rhythm, and confidence while having fun moving to music. Games and Sports – Team-building games, outdoor challenges, and fun competitions keep children active, foster cooperation, and promote healthy physical activity. Every activity is carefully designed to be safe, inclusive, and enjoyable, ensuring every child leaves with new skills, happy memories, and a sense of accomplishment. At our Easter Holiday Club, every child enjoys freshly prepared, nutritious hot meals daily, carefully designed to be healthy, balanced, and appealing to young tastes. Each day offers a choice of a meat or fish dish alongside a wholesome vegetarian option, paired with seasonal vegetables or salads and a tasty dessert or fresh fruit. From oven-baked chicken with rice pilaf, hearty byrek-style slices, and baked fish fillets, to comforting vegetable & chickpea casseroles and Albanian-style soups, our menu celebrates flavour, variety, and nutrition. Children will also enjoy sides like fresh salads, steamed vegetables, and wholesome breads, plus sweet treats such as fruit salads, yogurt with fruit, and light puddings—all freshly made to keep energy high and taste buds happy throughout the day. Our meals not only satisfy appetites but also introduce children to cultural flavours, healthy eating habits, and balanced nutrition, making mealtimes a fun and nourishing part of every holiday session.
