Our pedagogy
Our SEND Youth Club offers a welcoming, inclusive, and child-led environment where every young person is encouraged to explore, have fun, and build confidence at their own pace. We understand that every child is unique, which is why our sessions are designed to allow young people to choose activities that interest them, helping them feel comfortable, valued, and in control of their experience. At the heart of our youth club are three important values: fun, friendship, and providing a safe space. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to socialise, make new friends, develop new skills, and enjoy positive experiences in an environment where they feel accepted and supported. Our friendly team is committed to creating a relaxed atmosphere where young people can be themselves without fear of judgement. During each child-led session, there will be a variety of exciting activities available for everyone to enjoy. Our arts and crafts area encourages creativity and self-expression through painting, colouring, model making, and seasonal craft activities. These creative opportunities help young people develop fine motor skills while allowing them to express their personalities and ideas. For those who enjoy being active, we offer a selection of fun games that promote teamwork, communication, and confidence. Whether playing board games, group activities, or interactive challenges, there is something suitable for different ages, interests, and abilities. The sensory room provides a calm and relaxing space for young people who may need some quiet time or sensory regulation during the session. This peaceful environment offers a chance to unwind, recharge, and feel comfortable whenever needed, supporting each child's individual sensory needs. Creative and imaginative play is another important part of our sessions. Through role play, building activities, storytelling, and imaginative games, young people can develop communication skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and confidence while having fun with their peers. As well as these activities, there will always be opportunities to explore new interests, try different experiences, and simply spend time with friends in a safe, supportive setting. Because our sessions are child-led, young people are encouraged to make choices about how they spend their time, helping to build independence and self-confidence.
