Kids will enjoy soft archery, bouldering, bushcraft & nature art, campfires, arts & crafts, and nutrition sessions. Led by our experienced team, every child can explore, create, and build confidence in a safe, supportive environment. Join the adventure today! All children with additional needs will be supported by highly trained SEND staff.

About your mentor
Woodland Adventure Zone
Fun, outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy.
Set amongst acres of pine trees within Sherwood Forest, Woodland Adventure Zone is a truly unique setting for an outdoor adventure. With access for everyone, the Woodland Adventure Zone provides an exciting experience, with all activities outdoors (weather depending) in our beautiful forest. Along with more relaxing activities within the woodland, showing children the benefits of being outside with arts, crafts and bushcraft skills.
When you arrive
The Woodland Adventure Zone is part of the Portland College campus, just outside of Mansfield on the A60. Arrival is from 9am, when you will meet the friendly and experienced Woodland Adventure Zone team of staff and volunteers. After signing in, breakfast of fruit or cereal and drinks for all will be served between 9:30 and 10:00am, before starting on the first exciting activity. Children are welcome to bring their own snacks and lunch if preferred.
What we'll do
Our experience team of staff will lead on a varied timetable of exciting activities each day of the week. Activities will include, but not be limited to: Soft archery Orienteering Bushcraft and toasting marshmallows Nature art Shelter building Making fruit kebabs Nature walk Wildlife observations Sensory play team building The format of “learning through play” ensures that the children have more confidence, they will be encouraged to use their imagination, speak with positive language, and can support their physical well-being and overall health by being physically active, all whilst boosting their social skills and making new friends,
