What we'll do

Our sessions are inclusive and fun for all SEND children and their siblings. Each session we have some colouring and play dough stations, some imaginative play and some cause and effect toys. We also have a sensory tent for children who want some space away from others. We try to have a different activity each session which children may not usually experience such as falconry, farm on wheels, arts & crafts, circus skills etc. The school we hold the sessions at has a fabulous, enclosed field which including an accessible nature walk which all of our children and families love!

SEND Gin and Cheese CIC ensures that no parent is left alone to process the changes ahead for them and their families after a diagnosis of SEND. It’s a community to support, guide, empower, laugh, and cry together. It’s a way to strengthen mental foundations and provide practical skills and advice. Supporting all family members

FAQs

Do I need to stay with my child? Yes, the session requires parents to stay with their children. We offer hot drinks and biscuits for all parents . grandparents and carers. How can I prepare my child if this is their first visit? We have a welcome video which is guided tour around the setting as well as a social story with pecs symbols. If you would like to access these, please email charlie@sendginandcheese.org What is your staff to child ratio? We have a minimum of 5 staff but this is surplus to parents and carers who attend. We don't offer 1:1 support for children who may need medical or behavioural support.
