A summary
SEND Family Gym is a supportive and structured gym-based programme designed to help young SEND people across Halton develop confidence, routine, and lifelong healthy habits within a safe gym environment. The programme provides young people with an opportunity to learn how to train properly, understand the basics of strength and conditioning, and build a positive relationship with physical activity that can support their health for years to come.
Delivered in a welcoming and inclusive setting, sessions are carefully coached and structured to ensure young people feel comfortable regardless of their starting ability or experience. Participants are supported to develop physical fitness, teamwork, social skills, and personal confidence, while also learning how to use gym equipment safely and effectively.
