What we'll do
Using eco‑friendly resin, children will experiment with colour mixing and marbling techniques before carefully pouring their designs into moulds to create their own adorable alpaca and capybara. Each piece is unique, with swirling colours and patterns that make every animal truly one of a kind. This hands‑on session is perfect for curious makers who love getting creative while learning about more sustainable materials. Not only will children enjoy the process of designing and pouring, but they’ll also leave with two charming eco‑resin animals to take home and treasure. Creative, mindful and wonderfully tactile, this activity is a beautiful blend of art, science and fun. It’s a fantastic opportunity to try something new, build confidence, and have fun with others. By the end of the session, each participant will take home their own bold, eye-catching Alpaca and Capybara to proudly display. Please note: All children must be accompanied by an adult/carer.

About your mentor
The Sensory Place
Creating a safer space for children with SEND
About Us The Sensory Place is a parent-led organisation offering a network of support to families of children with all disabilities aged 0-25 years. We are all parents of a child or children with a disability and we felt that there were just not enough places to go or things to do when you have a child who has additional needs as mainstream activities are just not accessible for many different reasons. We also experienced judgement and isolation as other people do not always understand the difficulties families like ours face. We knew we weren't alone in thinking this and so The Sensory Place was born in 2019 with a view to changing this for the better. We are proud to say we achieved charity status in September 2021. Our charity registration number is 1195932. We offer courses based on the needs of our families, sensory friendly and accessible events designed with the whole family in mind as well as working with a variety of organisations, services and local authorities to make mainstream events accessible to all. We have an ambitious vision for what we want the charity to achieve and how we want families to be able to benefit. We are always looking for new and exciting activities, courses and things to do. Please feel free to let us know if there is anything in particular you would like to see and we will do what we can to bring it to you. Our families will always be at the heart of everything we do and we welcome feedback to help us improve. Every penny we receive in donations goes back into the charity to help us continue to provide events and activities. If you are interested in fundraising for us, please get in touch and we will do what we can to support. So whether your child is a sensory seeker, avoider, both or neither - welcome! We hope that you find the support within the group that you are looking for.
