SEND BNHF @ The Nest

Norwich City Community Sports Foundation

A summary
Norwich City Community Sports Foundation will deliver a dedicated SEND BNHF programme across the summer period at The Nest, its state-of-the-art community hub. This provision is designed to offer a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring equitable access to enriching holiday experiences.
The programme will provide a structured timetable of adapted physical activity, creative sessions, and social development opportunities, all aligned with the individual needs of participants. Activities will be delivered by experienced, SEND-trained staff, supported by volunteers, ensuring appropriate staff-to-participant ratios and personalised support throughout.
The Nest’s accessible facilities—including indoor and outdoor activity spaces, sensory-friendly environments, and dedicated learning areas—create an ideal setting for delivering tailored provision. The programme will prioritise inclusion, wellbeing, and confidence-building, helping participants to develop social skills and maintain physical activity levels during school holidays.
In addition to activities, nutritious meals will be provided daily, supporting healthier lifestyles and addressing food insecurity. Families will also be signposted to relevant local services and support networks, strengthening community connections beyond the programme itself.
Overall, this SEND BNHF delivery will provide high-quality, inclusive holiday provision that supports the holistic development of young people, reduces isolation, and ensures that all participants can access positive and meaningful experiences over the summer.
