A summary
Science Explorers is a hands-on, confidence-building science programme designed to support students with key ideas from the secondary school science curriculum while keeping learning fun and creative. Students will take part in a range of practical activities that help them understand scientific concepts in a meaningful way. These include flower dissections to learn about plant structure and function, paper plane investigations to explore the scientific method, identifying independent, dependent and control variables, and presenting results using simple graphs. Students will also try chromatography to separate colours and understand mixtures, and they will make slime to learn about states of matter, polymers, and following experimental methods. Alongside core science skills, students will explore cutting-edge areas of science and technology that are becoming increasingly important today. We will use AI literacy games to help students understand how artificial intelligence works and how to use it safely and responsibly. Students will also learn the basics of computer coding in an accessible, step-by-step way, and will take part in engineering challenges, such as building spaghetti bridges to test strength, structure and problem-solving skills. We look forward to welcoming students for a week of discovery, creativity, and scientific adventure!
