A summary
This summer in our junior workshop we will be putting on a full production of the brilliant musical 'Shrek!'. Could your young performer be our leading ogre? Or maybe they're more of a Donkey or Princess Fiona? How about one of the many fairy tale creatures that feature in this fun production... INCLUDED IN YOUR WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE - A personalised workshop t-shirt - The chance to audition for a lead role - An official script for the show - Daily acting, singing and dance classes - An unforgettable performance in a theatre space - Two tickets for family and friends (additional tickets can be purchased) PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A FIVE DAY WORKSHOP! Step into the spotlight and bring the magic of musical theatre to life! Our action-packed holiday camp is perfect for young performers who love to sing, dance, and act. Over the course of the camp, participants will dive into the world of theatre, learning show-stopping songs, high-energy dance routines, and engaging acting techniques—all while building confidence and making new friends. Each day is filled with movement, creativity, and fun, as we work together to put on a full production of the brilliant musical Shrek! With exciting theatre games and team challenges thrown in, this is a fast-paced, high-energy experience that will have everyone on their feet and loving every moment. The workshop will culminate in a special showcase of our full production for families and friends, in a the Uppingham Community College theatre complete with light, costumes and the full theatre experience. We have no doubt that our incredible cast will dazzle family and friends with their performance skills. DATES AND LOCATION REHEARSALS - Monday 4th to Thursday 7th August - 10am to 4pm at English Martyrs Primary School DRESS REHEARSAL - Friday 8th August - 10am to 4pm at Uppingham Community College PERFORMANCE - 4pm Friday 8th at Uppingham Community College No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm, imagination, and love for the stage! Rutland Youth dance Academy is ran by company director Sarah Bell. RYDA provide weekly classes in musical theatre, street dance and contemporary for dancers of all ages and holiday workshops for young people in and around Rutland.
Suitable for
Young people aged 7 to 11 that love to move, sing, and act. No experience necessary as our expert teacher are on hand to show you the ropes!
