This summer in our senior workshop we will be putting on a full production of the iconic musical 'Grease!'. Could your young performer be our Sandy, Danny, or one of the super slick T-Birds or sassy pink ladies? INCLUDED IN YOUR WORKSHOP EXPERIENCE - A personalised workshop t-shirt - The chance to audition for a lead role - An official script for the show - Daily acting, singing and dance classes - An unforgettable performance in a theatre space - Two tickets for family and friends (additional tickets can be purchased) PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A FIVE DAY WORKSHOP! Step into the spotlight and bring the magic of musical theatre to life! Our action-packed holiday camp is perfect for young performers who love to sing, dance, and act. Over the course of the camp, participants will dive into the world of theatre, learning show-stopping songs, high-energy dance routines, and engaging acting techniques—all while building confidence and making new friends. Each day is filled with movement, creativity, and fun, as we work together to put on a full production of the classic musical Grease! With exciting theatre games and team challenges thrown in, this is a fast-paced, high-energy experience that will have everyone on their feet and loving every moment. The workshop will culminate in a special showcase of our full production for families and friends, in a the Uppingham Community College theatre complete with light, costumes and the full theatre experience. We have no doubt that our incredible cast will dazzle family and friends with their performance skills. REHEARSAL TIMES, DATES & LOCATIONS 10am to 4pm each day Monday 11th August - Uppingham Church Hall Tuesday 12th August - Uppingham Town Hall Wednesday 13th August - Uppingham Church Hall Thursday 14th & Friday 15th August - Uppingham Community College PERFORMANCE Friday 15th August, return at 6.15pm for performance @ 7pm at Uppingham Community College (there is the option to stay onsite between rehearsal finish at 4pm and evening return at 6pm if necessary) No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm, imagination, and love for the stage! Rutland Youth Dance Academy is run by company director Sarah Bell. RYDA provide weekly dance classes in musical theatre, street dance and contemporary and also holiday workshops for young people in and around Rutland.

Suitable for

Young people age 12 upwards who enjoy singing, dancing and / or acting. No experience necessary as our expert teacher are on hand to show you the ropes and develop your skills.

What you'll need

Please bring along to all rehearsals any materials that we provide for you including and scripts and song books. You will also need plenty of energy and a drinks bottle you can refill.
