REWILD HASTINGS: FREE NATURE BASED OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES FOR LOCAL CHILDREN.
A chance for children to step away from screens, breathe fresh air, and spend time playing, exploring, and connecting with nature in a safe, supportive woodland setting.
Activities may include:
- Nature-based games and free play
- Traditional woodland crafts and practical skills
- Foraging
- Archery
- Woodland exploration and discovery
- Learning about wildlife and the natural world
- Forest School and nature connection activities
- Ropes, slacklines, swings, bridges and hammocks
- Conservation and care for the woodland
Children will be left with our skilled staff team to have fun in the woods, make new friends, get active and feel close to nature.
THIS IS A DROP OFF SESSION (PARENTS DO NOT STAY).
We meet at the Woody Wood Garden at the bottom of Parsons Close.
Toilets available in the garden
Bring drinking water and snack (East lunch before attending)
FREE FOR ALL CHILDREN
All local children can attend these sessions for free. We also ensure a percentage of spaces are held for children who may benefit most, helping to make these sessions accessible to families across our town.
BEFORE BOOKING
At Project Rewild we work in outdoor wild spaces, which means there are some natural limitations to the level of individual support we can safely provide. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, we ask parents/carers to contact us before booking if their child:
• Has displayed significant behavioural difficulties in school or group settings that may require additional adult support.
• Has learning disabilities that may require a higher staff ratio or one-to-one support.
• Has a physical disability that may require additional support to access the woodland environment safely.
• Requires assistance with personal care (e.g. using the toilet or managing personal hygiene). We are not insured to help assist with personal hygiene.
• Requires medication to be administered by an adult during the session.
Health and illness
• Children should not attend if they are unwell with an infectious illness.
• If your child has experienced sickness or diarrhea, they must be clear of symptoms for at least 72 hours before attending.
Unfortunately, we do not have the staff ratios to provide one-to-one care. Where children need this level of support, please contact us to discuss whether reasonable adjustments can be made.
