A summary
SWASEND will be running this Numeracy workshop via Zoom, on Saturday 16 May from 09:00-17:00. We will be taking lots of breaks and enjoying some movement activities from Olly Room (Michael Hall Bothmer gym).
Book before May 10th to receive the reduced price of £40 (normally £75)
We would like people to join us and explore how to support all children in gaining a healthy and happy relationship to Numeracy!
This day course will focus on typical and atypical numeracy development and provide participants with creative ideas in how best to support numeracy in the classroom.
By taking the "performance" element out of learning, we free children to develop far better problem-solving and thinking skills and with it will come greater confidence in themselves and the world around them.
This course is suitable for classroom teachers, SENDCos, LSAs, parents, Numeracy Coordinators, trainee teachers.

Anita Hempenius has been a class teacher in the Steiner Waldorf sector. She has undertaken extensive research in the progression of effective numeracy development and teaching skills. Anita has qlso been SENDCo and Learning Support teacher specialising in supporting those less able to grasp numeracy concepts easily. Ann Swain has been a class teacher, learning support teacher and SENDCo for 3 decades. She is co-founder of SWASEND and course leader for Align for Learning. Ann has experience in assessing and supporting children from Early Years through Middle School.
